Railroad Fatality, PATH Track Dept. Foreman

$900,000.00

Vito Venditolli (track foreman)

Guido Vendittoli, a 55-year-old PATH Track Dept. Foreman, was killed, along with another track worker, by a PATH train on 12/2/95 in broad day light. They were struck by the PATH train while standing on tracks performing scheduled track maintenance work. Ira Maurer represented the widow of Guido Vendittoli and commenced a lawsuit in the federal court in Newark, N.J. The National Transportation Safety Board report prepared by the federal government concluded that Mr. Vendittoli never notified PATH supervisors that he was going out to make track repairs at the work site where he was killed.
During the litigation, Ira Maurer was able to unearth evidence that proved the government report was in error and that Mr. Vendittoli had notified supervisors of his planned track work before going out on the tracks. Ira Maurer forced PATH to pay Mrs. Vendittoli the sum of $900,000.00, representing all damages permitted by law.
